La vida es un carnaval when “El Chévere de la Salsa” Issac Delgado and his orchestra bring nonstop delights straight from Cuba to Lincoln Center’s moonlit dance floor. Delgado rose to international fame in the ’90s as the lead vocalist of Havana supergroup NG La Banda, considered the first timba band. Infusing popular Cuban music with salsa, funk, and R&B, Delgado and his power lineup of collaborators keep the party charged with infectious melodies, driving Afro-Cuban rhythms, sparkling horns, and legendary improv breaks.
