Slumber (2027) is a commission of the Pasculano Collaborative for Contemporary Dance. The development of Slumber (2027) was supported by a Works & Process residency at Catskill Mountain Foundation.

An evening-length work by Hannah Garner's 2nd Best Dance Company, Slumber (2027) walks the fuzzy line between dance and play in an exploration of the well-known story about waiting: Sleeping Beauty. The work counters the perception that waiting is a passive state; wonders how we make meaning; and questions what is valued in live performance and, subsequently, what is valued in life itself. 2nd Best Dance Company is an NYC-based dance-theater company that creates, performs, and teaches physically rigorous, sometimes virtuosic, and almost always slapstick dance plays. This is their love letter to performing.
