Writer and director Pierre-Alain Giraud's Playing with Fire: An Immersive Odyssey with Yuja Wang is an experiential installation that reinvents the classical recital. Having played across the globe and with nearly every major symphony orchestra in the U.S., the internationally recognized concert pianist Yuja Wang now pushes the boundaries of performance into the digital world. Playing with Fire projects audiences into Yuja’s artistic journey through a multisensory mixed reality concert, combining 360° video and spatial audio in a re-creation of Yuja’s concert performance on a Steinway Spirio piano. Explore light sculptures and dazzling animations from artist Gabríela Friðriksdóttir, all viewed through a cutting-edge VR headset. The event's classical repertory features signature compositions from Ravel, Debussy, Bach, Brahms, Chopin, Prokofiev, Liszt, and Stravinsky. Following a triumphant showing at the Festival de Cannes Immersive Competition in 2026, this Lincoln Center engagement marks Playing with Fire's North American debut.
