Join the Young People’s Chorus of New York City (YPC) and the Guangdong Experimental Choir of China for a festive mid-autumn celebration. Praised by The New York Times for its virtuosity, YPC empowers more than 2,000 young people annually through exceptional music education and choral performance. Founded by MacArthur Fellow Francisco J. Núñez, YPC’s artistry inspires invitations for collaborations and performance from a global array of festivals and cultural institutions. Led respectively by Núñez and Xie Mingjing of Guangdong, both ensembles will join to demonstrate the power of music to unite us, by sharing an afternoon of song that transcends language, culture, and continents. This outdoor, audience-interactive performance marks the start of a week of partnership activities between these two award-winning choirs through the YPC Tandon Global Collaborative, a landmark initiative dedicated to bringing young singers into contact with peers around the world.
