Dance Instructors: Eddie Torres Jr. and Princess Serrano
DJ: DJ John John

All summer long, ¡VAYA! honors NYC's rich traditions of Latin dance and music with movement instruction and concerts tailored for dancers of every skill level. Following instruction from Eddie Torres Jr. and Princess Serrano and a warm up mix of timeless salsa hits from DJ John John, the Oasis Dance Floor comes alive with a set from beloved Bronx Charanga ensemble Tipica '73. Formed by veterans of the legendary Ray Barretto Orchestra, Tipica '73 is renowned for its decade-long run of pachanga and salsa albums released on New York's iconic Fania label, including the classic Into the Eighties LP. Original members bongosero Johnny "Dandy" Rodríguez and pianist Sonny Bravo will be among the salsa maestros taking part in this celebratory concert featuring some of the band's most fondly remembered songs.
