Poetry & the Creative Mind is a celebration of the presence of poetry across the arts, and throughout our lives, which features a star-studded line-up of luminaries presenting readings from poetry’s most significant voices.

The 17th annual celebration will include readings and performances from Emmy Award-winning journalist Ann Curry; founding member of the Magnetic Fields Stephin Merritt; James Beard Award-winning chef Daniel Rose; multimedia artist Toyin Ojih Odutola; award-winning actors Ellen Burstyn and Josh Charles; philanthropist David Rockefeller Jr.; Irish Ambassador Daniel Mulhall; Tony Award-winning dancer Savion Glover; Pulitzer Prize-nominated memoirist, poet, and President of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Elizabeth Alexander; and other special guests.

Join the Academy of American Poets for this magical evening, which serves as a key fundraiser for National Poetry Month, the largest literary celebration in the world. Proceeds support National Poetry Month and the Academy’s Education Program, which enable teachers and educators in their efforts to bring poetry into the classroom.
