GEORGES BIZET

Carmen

Fresh off her sensational Met debut as Nefertiti in Philip Glass’s Akhnaten, mezzo-soprano J’Nai Bridges takes on the role of the Gypsy temptress in Richard Eyre’s dazzling production. Ramona Zaharia, Clémentine Margaine, and Varduhi Abrahamyan sing later performances, and tenors Yonghoon Lee, Marcelo Álvarez, and Russell Thomas share the role of the hot-blooded soldier Don José. Bass-baritone Kyle Ketelsen, bass-baritone Christian Van Horn, and bass Alexander Vinogradov are the vain toreador Escamillo, and Lorenzo Viotti and Marco Armiliato share conducting duties.
