The Daegu City Choir, founded in 1981, is a vital part of the city's cultural life, consequently bringing world-wide attention to Daegu city in Korea as a vital creative center. The Choir focuses on the interpretation of varied repertoire, classical to contemporary, popularizing Korean works including traditional Korean folk songs, as well as art songs that reflect the great enthusiasm and emotion of their nation. Since Seung-Tae Ahn became the artistic director and conductor of the Choir (2015), The Daegu City Choir's reputation has flourished and has been invited to perform around the world.
