The Latvian Radio Big Band was originally founded in the 1960s, but only recently did it return to the bandstand after a 16-year hiatus. This reborn big band has swiftly achieved international acclaim, performing and recording with the likes of Kurt Elling, Roberta Gamabarini, Jojo Mayer, Seamus Blake, New York Voices, and Randy Brecker. The group harkens back to a long tradition of radio big bands in Europe, presenting a broad range of music styles as arranged for a jazz-oriented orchestra.
