Core band with leader/drummer Sherrie Maricle; pianist Tomoko Ohno; bassist Noriko Ueda; alto saxophonists Alexa Taylor and Mercedes Beckman; tenor saxophonist/clarinetist Janelle Reichman; tenor saxophonist Cynthia Mullis; baritone saxophonist Leigh Pilzer; trumpeters Liesl Whitaker, Jami Dauber, Rachel Therrien, and Barbara Laronga; trombonists Jennifer Krupa, Hailey Brinnel, and Leslie Havens

 

With special featured guests trumpeter Ingrid Jensen (March 29, original DIVA member), vocalist Camille Thurman (March 30-31, sometimes DIVA), and clarinetist Anat Cohen (April 1, former DIVA member)

 

The all-female DIVA Jazz Orchestra exudes the excitement and force found in the historic big band tradition. With Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola as its “New York City home,” DIVA performs all over the world, playing contemporary, mainstream big band jazz composed and arranged to fit the individual personalities and styles of the musicians. Tonight’s performance is an album release party celebrating 25 years of the DIVA Jazz Orchestra, featuring all new tunes written by members of the band. Audiences can expect an explosive performance packed with stunning improvisation, spontaneity, and an emphasis on fun.
