Elizabethan England. Early 1600s. The playwright, poet, and actor William Shakespeare has just completed a new work that will go on to become one of the most famous plays of all time. Find out how it went down at the latest installment of New Yorker writer Adam Gopnik’s popular series that investigates landmark cultural moments. Guest artists include American literary critic and scholar Stephen Greenblatt and actors Dan Beaulieu and Claire Warden, who will perform a scene in Original Pronunciation.
