Ukrainian composer Valentin Silvestrov creates a universal testament to existence through spare, deeply affecting compositions. For this celebration of the composer’s 80th birthday, pianist Jenny Lin illuminates Silvestrov’s lyrical meditations on Mozart, Schubert, Chopin, and others alongside the masterworks that inspired him.

This performance is also part of Great Performers.
