Celebrating debut novels by Asian diasporic writers

Presented in collaboration with Asian American Writers' Workshop

As part of this year's Festival of Firsts, join five Asian writers at the Atrium as they read from their debut novels and discuss what it means to be an emerging writer today! Poet and authors Wo Chan, Sanjena Sathian, Sarah Thankam Mathews, Qian Julie Wang, and Ryan Lee Wong work across a variety of disciplines and represent the vibrancy of work emerging from the vast Asian diasporic community. For this conversation, Lincoln Center partners with the Asian American Writers’ Workshop, which is dedicated to creating, publishing, developing and disseminating creative writing by Asian diasporic writers and to providing an alternative literary arts space at the intersection of migration, race, and social justice, offering a new countercultural public space in which to imagine a more just future.

If you have any questions about this event, please contact Guest Experience at 212-875-5456 or [email protected].

After the event, don't miss the Yu and Me Books pop-up store at the Atrium! The Chinatown bookstore / cafe / bar showcases strong, diverse voices of the Asian community, with a focus on immigrant stories. It is also the first female Asian American-owned bookstore in New York City!

Wo Chan, Togetherness
