The Philharmonic's Kidzone Live! -- in London, 02/18/2012

New York Philharmonic

03:01

The New York Philharmonic brings Kidzone Live!, its interactive music fair, to London's Barbican Centre, where, before the Young People's Concert, children get to build and try out instruments and compose their own music. Among their guides: Associate Principal Trumpet Matthew Muckey, cellist Elizabeth Dyson, violinist Hae-Young Ham, Acting Associate Principal Clarinet Pascual Martinez Forteza, and Young Composers' Advocate Jon Deak and Philharmonic Teaching Artist Richard Carrick, who introduce the world premiere of a work created by 14-year-old Karen Yim, a British student who spent the week working with the Philharmonic's Credit Suisse Very Young Composers program.
