Video from Film Society of Lincoln Center special event "An Evening with Jane Powell:
"To celebrate Film Society and Turner Classic Movies' ongoing Furman Gallery exhibition, 'Style and Motion: The Art of the Movie Poster' (from the Mike Kaplan collection), we are delighted to present a special evening with one of Hollywood's most sparkling musical performers of the 1940s and '50s, Jane Powell. With her chirpy girl-next-door charm and operatic singing voice, Powell began hosting her own radio show at the age of 11. She entered the film arena in 1944 and hit her stride starring in such musical classics as Stanley Donen's 'Royal Wedding' (1951) and 'Seven Brides For Seven Brothers' (1954). Powell will take part in an on-stage conversation with TCM host Robert Osborne prior to a screening of 'Two Weeks with Love' (1950), her personal favorite among her many memorable film appearances."
