Harrell has won Grammy Awards, been named “trumpeter of the year” multiple times by DownBeat magazine, recorded on over 260 albums, and arranged for Vince Guaraldi’s work on Peanuts, Carlos Santana, and much more. He’s played with a long list of greats including Woody Herman, Art Farmer, Horace Silver, Stan Kenton, Lee Konitz, and Bill Evans, to name a few. His compositions have been performed by artists like Hank Jones, Arturo O’Farrill’s Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra, Ron Carter, and Chris Potter. For this birthday celebration, Harrell brings the quintet he’s led for nearly a decade, a refined and adventurous group that expertly showcases the full diversity of Harrell’s brilliant compositions.
