Maurice Hines is “Tappin Thru Life” with the DIVA Jazz Orchestra

Jazz at Lincoln Center

With tap dancer and vocalist Maurice Hines, music director and drummer Sherrie Maricle, pianist Jackie Warren, bassist Amy Shook, alto saxophonist Alexa Tarantino, tenor saxophonist Roxy Coss, baritone saxophonist Lauren Sevian, lead trumpeter Liesl Whitaker, trumpeter Jami Dauber, and trombonist Sara Jacovino Broadway legend Maurice Hines taps through his incredible career in show business in this celebration of song and dance. Hines pays tribute to his brother, Gregory, and the performers who inspired him—from Frank Sinatra to Lena Horne—with standards like “Luck Be A Lady,” “Smile,” “It Don’t Mean A Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing),” and more. Backed by the all-female DIVA Jazz Orchestra, who proudly calls Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola its “New York City home,” this infectious show promises a memorable evening at our most intimate performance space.
