Ben Wolfe Sextet with special guest Randy Brecker

Jazz at Lincoln Center

With pianist Luis Perdomo, bassist Ben Wolfe, drummer Donald Edwards, vibraphonist Joel Ross, trumpeter Randy Brecker, and tenor saxophonist Ben Solomon

Ben Wolfe is a Grammy Award-winning bassist and composer. Not only has he held long-term positions with artists including Wynton Marsalis, Harry Connick Jr., and Diana Krall, Wolfe is also a prominent bandleader and recording artist. Of his MAXJAZZ debut, No Strangers Here, the New York Times wrote: “In this music Mingus and Miles Davis meet Bartok and Bernard Herrmann.” Tonight he leads the Ben Wolfe Sextet featuring jazz giant Randy Brecker. A regular headliner himself, Brecker has won six Grammy Awards as a bandleader and has worked with everyone from Charles Mingus and Horace Silver to Frank Zappa and Parliament-Funkadelic. This will be Wolfe and Brecker’s first collaboration at Dizzy’s, so make sure to catch one of these sets.
