On the eve of his New York Philharmonic debut, English conductor Daniel Harding talks about Mahler getting his due, the privilege of playing with Mahler's own orchestra, and the varied perspectives that different orchestras can bring to the composer's music.
Mr. Harding conducts Mahler's Symphony No. 4 with soprano Lisa Milne, and Szymanowski's Violin Concerto No. 1 with Concertmaster Glenn Dicterow, March 3-5, 2011 at Avery Fisher Hall.
