On May 18, 1911, the great composer/conductor and then New York Philharmonic Music Director Gustav Mahler died. On May 16, 2011, a delegation from the Orchestra, including Musicians and Patrons, laid a wreath on his grave. On this video you hear the Philharmonic performing Mahler's Symphony No. 5, as well as the remarks that Archivist/Historian Barbara Haws made at the gravesite.
