Lauded for sensuous, sprightly performances and visionary programming, the San Francisco–based Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and its venerated leader Nicholas McGegan are joined by vocal stars Anne Sofie von Otter and Anthony Roth Costanzo for a wondrous evening of music spanning the Baroque to now. Opening with a delectable collection of Handel arias and culminating in Purcell’s regal Suite from The Fairy Queen, the program’s Baroque masters are connected—and illuminated—by ethereal works from Arvo Pärt and Caroline Shaw.
