For this second of two performances in the 2018/19 season, the Takács Quartet turns its insightful attention to Schubert’s beloved “Trout” quintet. With special guests David Korevaar on piano and Paul Erhard on double bass, the ensemble captures the timeless enchantment of Schubert’s meandering melodies, rippling arpeggios, and leaping harmonic colors. The “Trout” is paired with Brahms’s lyrical, intricate A-minor quartet for a perfect evening of chamber music at the highest level.
