Pekka Kuusisto, known for his improvisatory flair and “intensely intimate” playing (Guardian, U.K.), takes on one of the hallmarks of the violin repertoire, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, interspersed with folk music from Finland and Norway. Maestro Andrew Manze and the Festival Orchestra set a lively tone for this delightful evening with Bartók’s spritely Romanian Folk Dances.
