Opening up the West Side of Lincoln Center
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Lincoln Center West Initiative opens up the Amsterdam Avenue side of Lincoln Center’s campus, creating a more welcoming edge on the west side. The new design incorporates extensive community feedback from an ongoing participatory process that began in 2023. Features include: welcoming entrance that dramatically opens up Amsterdam Avenue to neighbors approaching from the west; community park featuring a lawn, water feature, tree groves and garden for public enjoyment; and new, world-class amphitheater that will improve artist and audience experiences. Each Lincoln Center Presents series delves deeply into one art form, one body of work, one theme, or one historic moment in time, through performance.
