Led by the “supremely gifted” pianist and bandleader Oscar Hernández (Relix), the two-time Grammy Award–winning Spanish Harlem Orchestra lights up the night with a set of full-throttled salsa dura. Having played alongside Latin royalty, including Rubén Blades, Tito Puente, and Celia Cruz, the 13 SHO musicians represent a veritable New York salsa supergroup. Colombian jazz harpist and “musical marvel” Edmar Castañeda (NPR) opens the show with the signature blend of jazz and South American folk music that has earned him avid fans across the globe.

“Encompass both the pleasures of the dance floor and the pride and aspirations of the barrio.”
– New York Times on the Spanish Harlem Orchestra
“A world-traveling, collaborative musical marvel.”
– NPR on Edmar Castañeda
