Summer for the City is New York City's ultimate arts festival, drawing over 442,000 visitors to Lincoln Center annually. Now in its third year, the festival offers hundreds of free events across dance, film, music, and more. Throughout the summer, Lincoln Center's campus transforms into a vibrant hub where New Yorkers can gather to relax and enjoy performances, including dancing under our iconic 10-foot disco ball. We are thrilled to welcome Jonathon Heyward, our new Renée and Robert Belfer Music Director, to lead our summer orchestra. In line with the orchestra's mission, Heyward will work to expand audiences for classical music through a diverse repertoire, educational initiatives with a focus on technology and music, such as an Augmented Reality exhibit on Schumann, Bach, and mental health, and by offering affordable ticket options.
