Presented in collaboration with NewYork-Presbyterian, the Official Hospital of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts

Celebrating February as Heart Health Month, Lincoln Center joins in partnership with Ailey Extension, AILEY's official dance studio, to present a one-of-a-kind movement workshopPopularized in the mainstream by the hit documentary Paris Is Burning, voguing first originated in the Harlem ballroom culture of the 1960s and came to full fruition in uptown competitive house competitions during the late 1980s. Vogue dancing fuses the stylized movements of fashion runways, hieroglyphic imagery, performative acrobatics, and martial arts. Instructors Aaron Thomas and Stan Elle will provide you with the tools you need to master the five key elements of vogue—catwalk, spins and dips, floor work, hand work, and duckwalk—while encouraging you to unleash your unique powers of self-expression. Attendees are invited to participate in voguing or to stand back and watch the professionals show the power of the artform! Experience not required; beginners welcome.
