In 2001, Lincoln Center hosted the first La Casita, a citywide, intentionally inclusive festival celebrating poetry and music, grounded in the principle that New York City is best represented by presenting the artistic traditions of its most underserved communities. This year, La Casita's curators have assembled a stellar cast of poets and musicians around the themes of lineage and heritage, mining tradition and bloodline through the lens of provenance. This year's line up includes MC and host LaTasha Diggs; interdisciplinary poets India Lena González, José Olivares, Trace Howard DePass, William J. Harris, Tanaya Winder; musical groups Afro-Andean Funk, The ICP Artists Collective performing Simuye. Mami Wata (Yemaya), and the Congolese ensemble Wacongo Dance Company.

Curated by Daniel C Dawnson, Rich Villar, Gabriel Ramirez, Claudia Norman, and Mahogany L. Browne
