Variations on a Blueprint

Through the William R. Kenan, Jr. Fellowship, emerging artists committed to arts education receive mentorship and training. This spring, the six Kenan Fellows – Ana Evans, Tramaine Gray, Jalen Hicks, Sam Sherman, Lauren Smith, and Marissa Truitt – have gathered to create a unique hybrid performance designed to probe the past and imagine the future for arts institutions. The highly collaborative new work – devised in partnership with Kate Baxter, Holly Belshaw, Thomas Booker, Devin Kessler, Jordan Robertson, Linnea Scott, Lila Weitzner, and Kayce Wilson – turns to music, dance, and puppetry to explore the contemporary history of the arts and what a more equitable and inclusive future could look like.

Run time: 45 minutes
