Pianist Beatrice Rana makes her highly anticipated New York debut this weekend, performing Beethoven's First Piano Concerto with Louis Langrée and the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra. (Learn more about the program.) We asked her a few questions to get to know her first.

Piano.

Last live performance you saw?
Tosca at the Caracalla Baths in Rome, quite a spectacular outdoor venue!

Favorite city to play?
Vienna.

Hidden talent?
I'm a very good tiramisù maker.

Favorite movie?
Nuovo Cinema Paradiso.

Artist you'd most like to meet, past or present?
Leonard Bernstein.

First live performance you remember seeing?
Mozart Piano Concerto K.488 with Alicia de Larrocha.

Latest project?
The Goldberg Variations.

Country you'd most like to visit?
Even though I've already been to Australia for concerts, I'd love to go there for an adventurous holiday.

Artist you'd most like to collaborate with?
Martha Argerich.

First time you realized you wanted to be a musician?
When I was nine, in my debut with an orchestra.

Slow practice is always the best.

Next goal or challenge you're setting for yourself?
The complete Beethoven concertos.

What do you want to be when you "grow up"?
I don't know "what," but I do definitely know "how" I want to be: very happy!
