CELEBRATE new commissions for the first time
On opening night, RuPaul's Drag Race stars Sapphira Cristál and Monét X Change show off their classical training for an extravaganza of drag and opera! Throughout the month of June, Nona Hendryx pushes the boundaries of art and technology, combining the physical and digital worlds in The Dream Machine Experience. Bring on the laughs as the clever, big-hearted stylings of musical theater maestro Ethan Lipton & His Orchestra are elevated for the first time by a full orchestra on June 28. Or, celebrate the Queens of Hip-Hop with an immersive night of orchestral music, DJs, and dance.PARTICIPATE at the intersection of arts and civic engagement
Join us for our Civic Saturdays performance series, designed to unite friends and strangers in the spirit of shared community. On July 6, we present Anthem to US, the culmination of a monthslong collaborative effort to create a contemporary anthem echoing our collective hopes, struggles, and histories. In August, we honor the centenary of the iconic author, social critic, and culture changer James Baldwin. Also that month, pop culture meets activism with the Ruidosa Festival, the Latine-led international feminist platform, with a full day of lectures, live music, and a late-night silent disco.SING and DANCE with the return of long-time favorites
NYC's largest outdoor dance floor with a now-iconic 10-foot disco ball shines bright as the centerpiece of Summer for the City with FREE social dance nights and silent discos every week. The Wedding: New York's Biggest Day also returns for the third year, inviting hundreds of couples to celebrate love. Free family shows for all ages, including storytimes, Big Umbrella Day, and dance workshops are offered all summer long. Audiences will see repertory favorites as well as a new World Premiere by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa. Each unique and exciting evening has been curated collaboratively by the artistic directors of the five companies. The Festival is made possible by CHANEL.
PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE
One for All, World Premiere Lincoln Center Commission by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa

One for All, commissioned by Lincoln Center and featuring dancers from each of the five companies, is set to Manteca by Funky Lowlives/Dizzy Gillespie.
Ballet Hispánico – Club Havana by Pedro Ruiz
Latin dancing at its best. The intoxicating rhythms of the conga, rumba, mambo, and cha cha are brought to life by choreographer Pedro Ruiz, himself a native of Cuba, as he imagined his very own “Club Havana.”
Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and American Ballet Theatre – Pas de Duke by Alvin Ailey (Jacquelin Harris, Ailey, and Herman Cornejo, ABT)
Choreography: Alvin Ailey
Music: Duke Ellington
Pas de Duke is Alvin Ailey’s modern dance translation of a classical pas de deux celebrating the musical genius of Duke Ellington. It was originally choreographed on two of the most renowned dancers in the world, Judith Jamison and Mikhail Baryshnikov, and presented as part of the festival “Ailey Celebrates Ellington” at Lincoln Center’s New York State Theater in 1976. Ailey choreographed five sections that capture the sassy sophistication of “The Duke’s” jazz music as the two soloists challenge each other toe-to-toe and line-for-line in a playful, good-natured competition.
New York City Ballet – Red Angels by Ulysses Dove
A dynamically charged, abstract work, Red Angels highlights the power and athleticism of its four dancers through bold choreography, intense lighting, and a riveting score for electric violin. Created for New York City Ballet’s Diamond Project in 1994, Red Angels was the first work created for NYCB by the late choreographer Ulysses Dove. An abstract work for four dancers, Red Angels is set to Richard Einhorn’s "Maxwell’s Demon", a solo for electric violin performed by innovative American violinist Mary Rowell.
Dance Theatre of Harlem – When Love by Helen Pickett
“Insistent time maps our days but when we are in love, we surrender,” says choreographer Helen Pickett about When Love. Her exquisite pas de deux captures the wondrous feeling of timeless love.
Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater – Love Stories finale by Robert Battle
Choreography: Robert Battle
Music: Stevie Wonder
Love Stories was Artistic Director Emerita Judith Jamison’s dynamic collaboration with hip-hop pioneer Rennie Harris and Robert Battle. Inspired by the African concept of “Sankofa,” which teaches that “we don’t know where we are going unless we know where we have been,” this extraordinary ballet celebrates the heritage of African-American dance and the rich legacy of Alvin Ailey. In the ballet’s joyful third section choreographed by Robert Battle, which is presented as a standalone piece, the choreographer portrays a luminous future built on the lessons and legacy of the past, with a forceful push forward.
