Presented in collaboration with The New York Library for the Performing Arts and Jazz at Lincoln Center

Celebrating the Library for the Performing Arts’ newest acquisition of the archive of jazz legend Wayne Shorter, we have curated an evening of music showcasing Shorter’s varied and extensive oeuvre in partnership with Jazz at Lincoln Center featuring Palladium: The Music of Wayne Shorter. Palladium is an official Wayne Shorter repertory group, personally blessed by Wayne, and founded by producer & Shorter family friend Jesse Markowitz who has worked since 2015 as Wayne’s messenger on social media, and whose longterm goal is for Wayne to be a Mozart-like figure in history. Palladium began as a live act in 2018 with the intent to share Wayne’s massive audience with the emerging and veteran musicians on the New York scene exploring the vast terrain of Wayne’s book. With a rotating cast, the group has included at times such luminaries as Victor Lewis, Billy Hart, Nicole Glover, Emilio Modeste, Joel Ross, George Cables and Emmet Cohen to name just a few. Palladium then expanded to a recording project, releasing two albums on Bandcamp, 2020 and Don’t Look Back, both of which include cameos from Wayne himself; a third album is currently in production.
