The Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra returns to Lincoln Center for a program featuring Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony in an affirmation of the indomitable defiance of the human spirit. The orchestra will also be joined in a performance of Strauss's Four Last Songs by Norwegian soprano Lise Davidsen — the most celebrated singer of her generation — whose recent portrayal of Isolde at the Metropolitan Opera, said The New York Times, left the audience “awed by power you almost never hear in the human voice." The concert will open with the US premiere of a newly commissioned Gloria from the acclaimed Ukrainian composer Bohdana Frolyak.

The Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra was formed in 2022 by Canadian Ukrainian conductor Keri-Lynn Wilson in direct response to Russia’s full-scale invasion and bears witness to an invincible country and to a culture that will never be silenced.
