Emerson String Quartet

The Emerson String Quartet’s daring Bartók and Beethoven series concludes with a tantalizing exploration of each composer’s vast musical universe. Bartók’s intense Fourth and sophisticated Sixth Quartets yield to Beethoven’s life-affirming “Razumovsky” Quartet in C major, the completion of an epic struggle as the composer grappled with advancing deafness.

The Program

“The Emerson performances represented an extraordinary fusion of experience and authority with audacity and freshness.”
– Boston Globe
