From his humble teenage beginnings as a backup singer for the legendary Lord Kitchener to his majestic reign at The Trinidad and Tobago Carnival, over the course of a more than 50-year career as a composer, live musician and producer, Calypsonian maestro David Rudder has always proudly represented the beating heart of Trini culture. A designated recipient of the esteemed Order of the Caribbean Community and a UN Goodwill Ambassador, Rudder is perhaps best known for his massive 1988 hit, "Calypso Music," which remains one of the genre's most lasting and beloved songs. Rudder continues to musically experiment in collaboration with major artists, including Machel Montano, Alison Hinds, and Etienne Charles. Don't miss this opportunity to celebrate the King of Calypso's 70th birthday bash, live at Damrosch Park!
