Shallow Alcove's delicate, DIY folk music take on the lullaby of bedroom pop is a thoughtful exploration of early nostalgia for yesterday's loves and heartbreaks. What started as friends writing songs in the bedrooms and basements of upstate New York has traveled to the urban hustle of New York City and Philadelphia, but the band’s roots remain the same: storytelling with the people they love. Founded and fronted by lead singer Grace Krichbaum and lead guitarist Dan Harris, Shallow Alcove has since expanded to include members Peter Groppe (guitar), Jack Harrington (bass, keyboard), and Noah Dadaris (percussion). They combine stacked vocal harmonies, catchy riffs, and diary-like lyricism to share a disarmingly honest, refreshingly tender soundtrack to the ephemerality of young adulthood. These are dynamic and sweetly melodic narratives that anyone can relate to, mapping the intricacies of changing relationships, the turning of the seasons, bad haircuts, and the ache of growing up.
