South African performer and composer Steve Dyer presents a musical homage to the historic Freedom Melody Festival, commemorating the brave artists who fought to end Apartheid, and shares music from his most recent album Multipolar as he challenges a unipolar power dynamic world to one with many centers of decentralized spheres of influence and power. This renewed Freedom Melody celebration performance will draw on the rich heritage of South African vocal and instrumental music. Dyer, a participant in the original Festival, will perform with his sextet and a guest choir for a night of cultural confluence and celebration of progressive innovation.
