Young Artist Pipeline

Lincoln Center's Young Artist Pipeline is a foundational arts training program for middle school students interested in developing craft and technique in a chosen performing art form (dance, instrumental music, or theater), learning about the professional arts world, and preparing for auditions for NYC screened arts high school. Pipeline seeks to address the opportunity gap due to the prohibitive cost of training in the arts.

The program participants receive instruction from professionals in their artistic discipline, and engage in inquiry-based, experiential learning around works of art. The performances that students experience in this programming are curated through the resident arts organizations at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Through this approach students develop their capacity to question, reflect, and make connections to works of art, each other, and the world. The program seeks to develop the next generation of artists ready to innovate, collaborate, and diversify opportunities in the arts.

Please note this program is available to sixth and seventh-grade students, with preference given to students attending Title 1 schools in school districts 3, 5 and 6. Students from other districts may apply.
